Monday, the Cypress Ranch senior class took their class panoramic on schedule. During the photo shoot, around 70 students rose their hands and yelled, “Heil Hitler, Heil Trump”.  Several students caught the image of their classmates in the act and posted them on social media. Teachers ‘did nothing’ according to student accounts.

Since then, the photos have gone viral and the news story has been reported not only on national news but international. The Daily Mail, a UK news site, featured the story on Snap Chat.

Cypress Ranch Principal, Bob Hull, sent an email out to parents explaining the situation and saying that school officials were investigating and those who participated in the salute would be punished according to the Student Code of Conduct. The district’s official statement was: “CFISD is extremely disappointed with the actions that were taken by some students at one of our campuses. Please know that we understand the serious nature of the incident and appropriate action has been taken.”
