Maneuvering a wet pitch and a slippery ball, the Lady Wildcats played hard and fast to record 21 shots on the night. When the buzzer sounded full time, the Lady Wildcat’s had held a safe lead over the Cy Creek Cougars 2-0.

It was senior Lexi Fowler who, within the first 10 minutes, had taken two shots from outside the box before she found the back of the net, mailing one over the keeper’s arms. Fowler was a force to be reckoned with and constantly found herself with the ball, finishing the night with 5 shots to her name and a handful of steals but was eventually sent off the field with a yellow card after multiple questionable calls against her.

Later in the first half sophomore Bailey Peschel picked up yet another goal for herself on the season. Peschel also found plenty of time with the ball and was incredibly efficient when she had it. With limited shot opportunities she made the most of what she did have, and was nearly 100% on her passes.

It’s a solid win for a Wildcat team that’s been winning by the skin of their teeth lately. MaxPreps ranks the Lady Wildcats as 12 in the state and thus far this season they’ve done their best to earn that ranking, with their only district loss to number one in the state Cy Ranch 2-1.
