Lauren Breckon took a few quick steps forward and delivered a serve to shallow right, a Jersey Village player returns and a weak hit is taken by a Wildcat draped in red and black. The ball falls to the ground and an eruption of cheering is heard from an eager group of Jersey Village fans.

The Cy Woods Wildcat volleyball team lost to the Jersey Village Falcons 26-24, 18-25, 29-27, 19-25, 13-15, in a five set thriller that saw the Wildcats tally double digit kills but were rendered ineffective by an excessive number of missed serves. “If you weren’t a player or coach it was probably fun to watch” said Wildcat Coach, Ashley Ahlfinger.

“Unfortunately [we] missed a lot of serves, and that’s not really typical of us” said Ahlfinger, “I think if we could’ve served better, like we normally served, we probably could’ve ended with a victory on that.”

The Wildcat volleyball team falls to 12-13(3-1 in league) on the season and looks forward to their next game on Wednesday, Sept. 8^th against district rival Cypress Ranch.
