The stands are littered with boyfriends and parents as the light from the towering pillars around the field shine down on the pitch. The Lady Wildcats are warming up along the side of the field as the previous game finishes up. Their opponent is an Eisenhower team that looks like they are ready to play.

“All we wanted to do was win and get to the next round,” Coach Amy Troquet said.

The Wildcats ended up embarrassing Eisenhower, however, with an astonishing score of 10-2. By the end of the first half the score was already 7-2 with multiple goals coming from Miranda Carrasco and Kayla Ragusa. By the time the second half of the game rolled around it was about keeping possession and having fun.

“You never plan on anything like that happening but you always hope for the best,” Troquet said. “If someone is feeling hot after they score then they will probably score again.”

The Lady Wildcats are set to face off against Tompkins in their next round but have already played them earlier in the season and will try to use the knowledge of the team that they gained to earn an advantage over them.

“We have already played them this season and we won so I’m very confident that we can do it again,” Forward Kaitlin Wisdom said. “I am very confident that we can go all the way and go to state.”
