A rainy Saturday afternoon proved to be advantageous to the Wildcats on the gridiron. The last game of the season would end in a 49-39 win for the Cy Woods Wildcats against the Cy Springs Panthers. Due to an injury to our normal starting quarterback the Cats decided to start Jordan Johnson as quarterback. Johnson started off the first quarter with trouble finding a receiver and opted to QB carries and handing the ball of to CJ Jones. In the Wildcats second possession Jordan Johnson tiptoed in to the end-zone putting the first points of the game on the board. Johnson would pass 34 yards to CJ Jones who put the second TD of the game up and with the extra point the cats lead the Cy Springs Panthers 13-0. The Panthers would fail multiple attempts to at scoring in the first quarter. In the second quarter Springs would score their first three touchdowns and the Cats with CJ Jones at QB would score in the hands of Jack Barrientez. In the second half CJ Jones would earn the title player of the game. CJ with the help of a strong Wildcat defense and offense would complete 6 of the team’s 8 TD’s. The only other two scorers of the game would be Johnson and Barrientez. Being the last game of the season the Wildcats did not upset. Defense had multiple sacks and some extra point slaps and overall did their job well. As for the offense any winning game means they did their job. Band and Cadets had their parent game in the rain and the poncho covered people performed pleasantly.  The student section showed up in substantial numbers and at the end of the game the seniors were allowed on the field to say goodbye to their Wildcat Football team for one last time.
