iOS 9 – Not Number 1

KyleR, Staff Reporter

Recently, Apple released the new iOS operating system for i-phones, but you would think it is better than the last; well you would be dead wrong. Instead, iOS 9 is one of the worst operating systems I’ve ever seen Apple produce in a long time.

First off, there are so many bugs with the new system. They’ve already had to release two updates trying to fix all ten bazillion bugs that are in it. It’s like they never even tested the system before releasing it. When I turn on my phone I should only have to swipe once to get to the password screen to type in my password, but instead I have to swipe twenty times or completely restart my phone just to unlock it. It shouldn’t take that long to just unlock a phone.

Then there’s the headphone connection. Seriously, just because I plug in my ear-buds doesn’t mean I want to listen to my music and if I do, I don’t want to listen to all my music at once. If I’m just listening for enjoyment I don’t want to be listening to my practice music or some super depressing instrumental song. Or maybe this is just me being too specific on my music preferences.

Texting has become even more difficult for me now. Whenever I’m watching a video and the little window drops down to alert me of a text, I takes a million years for it to register that I’m ever swiping up to make it go away or if I’m typing. Then, when I do go to the Messaging app it takes ten million years just to get there and then I can’t even see the text that I received because the keyboard is blocking half of the text.

The whole transition to data in low Wi-Fi is one of the worst ideas I’ve ever seen as a setting. It’s like Apple conspired with all the cell service companies to jack up the data bills because it just automatically switches over without even telling. If it has to switch, they should at least tell me so I can say no don’t do it. I don’t even want to see my cell data bill for the month because it’s probably outrageously high.

So if you want to know how good/ horrendous iOS 9 well, then here you go: don’t even think about getting it because your phone will already start bugging out from the bad update. If you haven’t gotten it already, save yourself and get out of the settings before it’s too late.iOS 9
